Ledenika Cave
Ledenika Cave is located 16 km from the town of Vratsa, in the Natural Park "Vratsa Balkan". It is located at 840 m above sea level in the Stresher part of the Vratsa mountain, in the area of Ledenishki uval.
It was formed in Malm limestone (caprotino-orbitolin limestone - Lower Cretaceous) during the Quaternary, when most Bulgarian caves were formed.
Tourism
Ledenika Cave is among the Hundred National Tourist Sites of the Bulgarian Tourist Union under number 16, has a seal.
The glacier was developed for tourists in 1961 and is one of the main tourist attractions in the area.
By Decree of the Council of Ministers No. 2057 of 28 November 1960, the Ledenika Cave was declared a natural landmark and entered in the List of Protected Areas and Protected Areas in Bulgaria. Since March 6, 2010 it is managed by the municipality of Vratsa.
